The Story

Based on Alexandra Fuller’s acclaimed memoir, Don’t Let’s Go To The Dogs Tonight is a powerful coming-of-age drama written, directed by and starring Embeth Davidtz.

Set in Zimbabwe during the final days of the Bush War and the rise of Robert Mugabe, the film follows young Bobo as she navigates childhood amid violence, racial tension and political instability. Through her innocent yet perceptive perspective, the film captures the emotional contradictions of growing up within a deeply divided society while exploring her family’s complicated attachment to Africa.
