Here in Kumasi, Ghana’s second-largest metropolis and sprawling home to more than 3 million people, Andrew is adopted by a passionate filmmaking community that are keeping the Kumawood dream alive after the collapse of the African film market by producing $50 movies that go straight to youtube.

Film Safari Ghana mixes film clips, interviews, and cinema-verite footage to create a vivid, vibrant and violent postcard from one of cinema’s final frontiers. It chronicles the history of Ninja and Ghana’s crazed DIY digital film scene, and the birth of a partnership between two of the world’s most maverick directors.
