Christian homemaker Bernie (Nick Frost) and his wife Eva (Alicia Silverstone) live with their perfect family in an idyllic 1990s sitcom, complete with canned laughter. When cracks start to appear in their blissful, TV-friendly lives, Bernie enlists the help of a bloodthirsty Russian criminal and his crack-smoking, mullet-toting teenage sons. Soon enough, their reality devolves into increasingly violent chaos, and when Bernie’s faith is pushed to the ultimate breaking point, a voice speaks to him from the great beyond to “kill them all”.
Coming hot off its infamous Sundance premiere, this utterly unhinged comedy features one of the most bananas genre shifts since Hot Fuzz. The English-language debut from Dutch provocateurs Steffen Haars and Flip Van der Kuil, Krazy House consistently outdoes itself with increasing levels of depravity and blood-curdling horror. A bonafide cult hit in the making, nothing is sacred in this gloriously unsettling nuking of the family unit.
