"Tight, imaginative and quite frankly miraculous...a singular huis clos thrill ride on the wings of drain pipes and degeneracy." – Fantasia International Film Festival
What do you get when you confine a feature film almost entirely to a nightclub bathroom, then dare to go deeper (literally) than any thriller has gone before? You get Flush. This furiously inventive French dark comedy draws from the claustrophobic cinema of Buried (2010) and 127 Hours (2010) but takes on its own personality by cranking the absurdity (and heart) up to eleven.
Luke, a drifting junkie, turns up at the club where his ex-partner Val works, desperate to reunite their fractured family before their eight-year-old daughter is placed in foster care. When Val refuses a reconciliation, a cascade of bad luck leads Luke to discover a hidden drug stash in the club’s bathroom. Busted trying to steal the goods by an enraged drug dealer and the bar’s boss, Luke gets his head smashed into, and irretrievably stuck in, a squat toilet.
Flush is a darkly comic tale of survival, escape and redemption.
