The Story

Cris (Nelle Lee) is a lawyer from Brisbane who has lived in London for a decade.She is about to move home with her British fiancé Dom (Matt Domingo), until he breaks up with her at the last minute. Cris decides to move back to Brisbane anyway.

She reconnects with her best friend Michelle (Kym Jackson) who is married to Aram (Tim Ross) and has two small children. Needing a job, she accepts an offer from Aram’s firm, even though it would mean working alongside Cris’ ex, Scooter (Andrew Steel). Cris and Scooter broke up a decade ago when he refused to accompany her to London; he has since married Ainsley (Brooke Lee) and they have a young child.

Worried that Cris and Scooter are spending too much time together, Michelle encourages Cris to embrace single life. Cris starts dating Toby (Julian Curtis), a barista and aspiring TV writer, who is the complete opposite to men she has been with in the past. She also quits her job at Aram and Scooter’s firm to be in in-house lawyer with Hutcho (Daniel Ewing), a charismatic multi-millionaire.

Scooter discovers that his wife Ainsley has been unfaithful to him and they separate. At the same time, cracks start emerging between Cris and Toby, and she is faced with a major ethical problem working for Hutcho. Cris finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads, and having to make a choice about whether she can move on in Brisbane, or if it’s time to leave again.
