‘Attractive visuals and noble sentiments combine in this traditional film, which offers a thoughtful alternative to the more frantic, helter-skelter animated features’ — Screen International

Based on a book by Roddy Doyle and with a voice cast that includes Brendan Gleeson, this heartfelt animation from Ireland is a celebration of how family bonds steer us through life’s greatest challenges.

Mary is 11 years old and has an insatiable passion for cooking, and dreams of becoming a great chef.  Mary’s grandmother, Emer, with whom she has a very special relationship, encourages her to make this dream come true. But every path has its obstacles, and facing them will take Mary on quite an adventure.

In this delicate coming-of-age story, filled with joy and laughter, four generations of women head off on a glorious journey together that takes them down memory lane in unexpected ways, and gives them the opportunity to truly and deeply learn about each other.
